Moonwave and her crew spent the month of December in the beautiful Bahamas. We were busy in Nassau for most of the month.
For the Christmas Holidays and New Years Eve, we went south to the beautiful Exumas Islands and further to the Outer Islands, like Western Plana Cay and Crooked Island, some of them inhabited.
Our final destination of the Holiday trip was Providenciales of the Turks & Caicos, unfortunately we could stay on this beautiful island as big winds were forecasted and we had to arrive as soon as possible in Saint Martin for some projects.
Enjoy the pictures from our trip through the beautiful Bahamian Islands – lots of beautiful Sunrise & Sunset pictures ;-)

Hello Sophie,
Have you considered installing a small wind turbine – either HAWT or VAWT – on the cat for additional electric generation?
David Martin
Dear David,
Thank you very much for your comment.
Regarding your question of installing a horizontal or vertical axis wind turbine on board Moonwave. We have until now, not found a good way to elegantly integrate a wind turbine. Therefore for now we have focused on solar power and regeneration under sail for power production as those have also a higher output rates – with a diesel generator as back-up.
If you have an elegant model of wind turbine in mind, please feel free to share and we will have a look at it – it’s always interesting to see and study what’s available.
Thanks again for your comment & Sunny Greetings from Moonwave, Sophie
